ICETech
Formation and transportation of artificial icebergs made of fresh drinking water
ICETech is an international innovation that can solve one of the humanity's global problems - lack of drinking water. This technology allows to create giant icebergs using membrane freezing to be transported by sea to regions suffering from the freshwater shortage.
The technology developed within the framework of the ICEtech project allows to freeze fresh water in the regions of its excessive concentration, create artificial icebergs with an area of up to 1.6 thousand square meters and a thickness of up to 200 meters. They can be delivered by towing to the regions in dire need of clean fresh water. Over 25.5 billion liters of drinking water can be delivered per one logistic route.
