The UAE plans to make the top ten largest countries in terms of hydrogen generation across the world

It was reported by Sharif Al Olama, Deputy Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the UAE, at the Sustainable Development Week in Abu Dhabi. Sharif Al Olama mentioned that the UAE aims to "capture 25% of the key low-carbon hydrogen markets during this decade" and has already achieved "great success" in developing clean hydrogen technologies.

By 2050, the global demand for hydrogen will grow to 600m metric tons per year thus accounting for 12% of the total world energy demand. As estimated by Natixis French Investment Bank, investments in hydrogen will exceed 300 billion dollars by 2030.
