Today Dubai hosts Expo 2020 Closing Ceremony

Today Dubai will host the Closing Ceremony of Expo 2020 World Exhibition, a global international event that brought together a record number of 192 countries. The grandiose show beneath the Al Wasl Dome will be attended by world stars. A live broadcast of Expo 2020 Closing Ceremony will be conducted by the leading UAE TV channels.

Expo 2020 World Exhibition, which opened on October 1, 2021, became the first Expo in the Middle East region, and secured the status of the largest World Expo in history. In six months, the exhibition was visited by 25 million people, the National Pavilion of Russia received more than 2 million guests.

The delegation of Business Russia visited Expo 2020 twice: in October 2021 as part of a business mission to the WETEX-2021 exhibition and in December as part of a three-day visit to the World Exhibition and the international forum "The Russia Forum: driving the future". On December 3, the Business Russia team held its own panel session "New Age Energy" devoted to the discussion of global challenges, trends and opportunities which the energy industry faces. The event was held at the Russian National Pavilion.

The World Exhibition lasted exactly six months, the culmination of Expo 2020 - the Closing Ceremony - will take place on March 31. It will be held in the format of a tremendous multimedia show. Th show will be opened by Mira Singh, a teenage girl of Indo–Belarusian origin, starring the Opening Ceremony of the World Exhibition. The ceremony will also be attended by such world stars as American pop singer Christina Aguilera, jazz singer and pianist Nora Jones, cellist Yo-Yo Ma. The cast of the Closing Ceremony will unite more than 400 professionals and volunteers from 56 countries.

All Expo 2020 ticket holders will be able to attend the concert, on a first-come, first-served basis. Besides, hundreds of children will become the guests of the show. During the ceremony, Dubai will hand over the Expo baton to the Japanese city of Osaka, which will host the Expo in 2025.

The closing ceremony will be streamed live by the leading UAE TV channels, as well as Virtual Expo and Expo 2020 TV channels on YouTube. The celebration will last all night, fireworks are scheduled for midnight and 03:00 am.
