The number of small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) in the UAE reaches 400 thousand

SME account for 60% of the non-oil economy and provide 30% country's GDP. In addition, they account for 73% of the UAE's trade sector and 16% of the services sector and provide 86% of employment in the private sector.

These figures were announced at the Advisory Board of the Dubai Customs Service meeting held to discuss the D33 economic program.

Recall that the D33 program is designed to double Dubai's economy by 2033 and strengthen its status in the global economy as the most preferred destination for small and medium-sized businesses.
