Negotiations with the Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA)

The "Business Russia" business ambassador in the UAE, the Russian Distributed Power Generation Association president, CEO at the MKS Group of Companies Maksim Zagornov discussed issues of the Russian-Emirates partnership in the energy sector with the Dubai Electricity & Water Authority (DEWA) leaders. The meeting took place within the third World summit of Aqdar 2019 which these days takes place in Moscow.

As noted by Maksim Zagornov – the Russian-Emirates partnership shows high rates of development today – solely by the results of the last year the commodity turnover between our countries was over 3 billion rubles. One of the most promising cooperation directions is the energy sector.

The DEWA representatives, in exchange, emphasized the idea that the United Arab Emirates are interested in implementation of joint energy projects and are open for all the new and advanced – technologies, innovations, know-how including the ones from Russia. Today projects of "green" power and also projects in such directions as clever networks, blockchain, artificial intelligence, distributed generation are actively developing in the UAE under the auspices of DEWA. Exactly these spheres are the ones the UAE are ready to develop the joint Russian-Emirates projects in.

During the meeting the parties discussed the organizational issues connected with participation of the "Business Russia" companies in an annual exhibition on technologies of water treatment, energy technologies and environmental protection of WETEX which this year will be held on October 21-23 in Dubai. This year the action is going to bring together over 2000 participants from 50 countries and will become an effective platform for carrying out transactions and establishment of partner communications.
