The formation of Business Russia delegation to participate in the business mission to the UAE continues

The formation of Business Russia delegation to participate in the business mission to the United Arab Emirates continues. It will be recalled that that the business trip will take place from September 26 through September 30, 2022. Its aim will be to participate in WETEX-2022 International Exhibition, to visit the key UAE Free Zones, to further expand the presence of Russian companies in the UAE market, to establish direct business contacts with stakeholders. In addition, as part of the business mission, there will be an off-site webinar on the UAE market entry algorithm and a meeting of Business Russia business ambassadors on the issues of Trade houses interaction and intercountry cooperation. The mission will be headed by the Business Ambassador of Business Russia to the UAE Maksim Zagornov.

The delegation of Business Russia preliminarily includes 15 entrepreneurs representing the interests of 8 Russian companies working in the field of the distributed power generation, electric transport, information technologies, fire safety, climate technologies, hazardous waste disposal, innovative food production. As part of the business trip, the entrepreneurs will present their own innovative developments, hold talks with the representatives of the UAE business and authorities, work through some specific options for opening companies and production facilities in various Free Zones, and outline the ways for further development in the Emirati market.

The key event of the business mission will be the participation in the 24th Water, Energy, Technology and Environmental Protection International Exhibition (WETEX) - one of the most authoritative and large-scale exhibitions bringing together еру participants in three key areas: power generation, water technologies, ecology. The exhibition is organized by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA). Official support for WETEX is provided by the Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. This year, the exhibition will bring together more than 2,500 exhibitors from 55 countries and will become an important platform for concluding agreements and establishing partnerships between Russian and Emirati companies.

At WETEX-2022, Business Russia will present a single booth as part of the general exposition of the Russian Export Center (in the SOLAR, SUSTAINABILITY AND INNOVATION pavilion, a few meters from the central stand of the organizer of the exhibition – DEWA). Currently, a program of b2b meetings with the representatives of the UAE government and business is being developed, DEWA management is scheduled to visit Business Russia booth, it is expected for a number of cooperation agreements to be signed between the companies of Business Russia and the UAE.

The program of Business Russia business mission will also include a visit to the key Free Zones of the UAE in order to study in detail the issues of opening companies or production facilities on the territory of these Free Zones. On September 26, a visit to the Free Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi KIZAD (specialization: oil and gas industry, power generation, metallurgy, automotive, chemical, food, pharmaceutical industries, logistics) and Masdar City Free Zone (specialization: RES (Renewable Energy Sources), artificial intelligence, transport, space, healthcare, sustainable urban development) is scheduled,On September 29 – the visit to the DMCC Free Trade Zone (one of the three most prestigious Free Zones in the world, offers almost all the types of business activities) is scheduled.

In addition, the members of the business mission will visit Business Russia Trade House in the UAE and the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where they will present their projects to representatives of the government and business of the emirate.

To get a complete picture of the current situation in the UAE market and the opportunities for Russian companies, a webinar will be held on September 27 on the following topic: Algorithm for Entering the UAE Market: New Challenges and Opportunities. Аs part of the business mission, Maksim Zagornov, Business Ambassador of Business Russia in the UAE, will talk about the specifics of doing business in the Emirates, about the algorithm for opening companies and settlement accounts in the UAE in current situation. And on September 28, an offsite discussion of the issues of Trade houses interaction and intercountry cooperation will be held by Business Russia Business Ambassadors.

Business mission of the year 2022 will be a logical continuation of Business Russia companies’ strategy for entering the market of the United Arab Emirates. For the last 4 years, Business Russia has been actively represented in the Emirates. In the UAE business community, the business organization has gained a reputation of a structure uniting the leading companies of the Russian Federation. During this time, four business missions have taken place, each of which had positive results and contributed to the Business Russia companies’ entering the UAE market.

For reference: As of today, the Emirates has become the No. 1 partner country in the Middle East for Russia. The UAE has officially announced its intention to increase trade and economic cooperation with the Russian Federation, which was confirmed by the UAE Embassy in the Russian Federation at a business breakfast with the members of Business Russia on July 13, 2022. The Emirates support the relocation of Russian companies to the UAE and create conditions for the development of innovative projects. Today, more than 40,000 Russian entrepreneurs have moved to the UAE for permanent residence. There goes an active process of companies registration and production facilities launching, including those carried out by the members of Business Russia.
