In 2022, Dubai witnessed a noticeable increase in medical tourism: 674 thousand people came to the emirate for treatment during the year spending over 992 million dirhams ($ 270 million) which is 262 million dirhams more than in 2021.
According to Dubai Health Authority (DHA), the majority of tourists came from Asia (39%), Europe and CIS countries (22%), as well as from Arab countries and GCC countries (21%). The following medical fields generated highest demand: dermatology (31%), dentistry (24%) and gynecology (18%).
Analysts predict that the growth of cosmetology and beauty markets will reach 7.5% by 2026, with a total revenue of $ 3 billion.
