Dubai opens world’s largest solar-powered data centre

A new complex developed by Moro Hub, a subsidiary of DEWA, was opened in Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park, the world's largest solar park.

Using 100% renewable energy, the data centre has a capacity exceeding 100 MW and is over 16,000 m2 in area, thus holding the Guinness World Record.

Supported by ChatGPT technology the centre will provide services in terms of data hosting, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and others.

According to Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy report, the UAE digital economy is expected to frow from 38 billion dollars to 140 billion dollars in 2031. Such a data center will allow the Emirates to maintain its leadership in the process of digital transformation of the country.
