Business Russia is preparing for a large-scale business mission at EXPO-2020

Business Russia is preparing for a large-scale business mission to the United Arab Emirates. The event, organized by Business Ambassador of Business Russia to the UAE Maksim Zagornov, will take place from December 2 to 6. The key event will be the participation of the delegation of the business association in the National Day of Russia at the World Exhibition EXPO 2020 and the international forum «The Russia Forum: driving the future», dedicated to Russian-Arab cooperation. Within the framework of the forum, on December 3, Business Russia will hold its own panel session «New Age Energy: Global Trends, Challenges and Opportunities». The business mission program also includes visits to the Khalifa Industrial Zone (KIZAD), the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA).

The business mission of Business Russia to the UAE gathered about 20 representatives of Russian business community, including a member of the Coordinating Council of Business Russia, Chairman of the Board of Directors of JSC GC Titan Mikhail Sutyaginsky, a member of the General Council of Business Russia, managing Partner of the investment and consulting group First Alexey Poroshin, a member of the General Council of Business Russia, CEO of JinChengInternational Mikhail Goryanoy, a member of the General Council of Business Russia, co-owner of VL Group Elena Krivenkova, Chairman of the Kaliningrad Regional branch of Business Russia Igor Pleshkov and others.

The business mission of Business Russia will take place alongside with significant dates for both countries. On December 2, the UAE celebrates one of the most important national holidays — the 50th anniversary of the formation of the United Arab Emirates, and on December 3-4, the National Day of Russia will be held at the EXPO-2020 World Exhibition, as part of which they will organize the international forum «The Russia Forum: driving the future».

The Business Forum will define the main trends in the development of Russia's international relations on the world stage. The forum will bring together the representatives of the business and political elite of the UAE and Russia, the representatives of leading Russian and international companies. The forum will be attended by Denis Manturov, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Sergey Sobyanin, Mayor of Moscow, Arkady Dvorkovich, Chairman of the Skolkovo Foundation, Alexey Likhachev, CEO of Rosatom State Corporation, Nazim Efendiev, CEO of Metalloinvest Management Company, Chairman of the State Development Corporation VEB.RF Igor Shuvalov, Assistant Minister for Culture and Public Diplomacy of the UAE Omar Ghobash and many others.

On December 3, 14:30-16:00 (Moscow time), as part of the business program of the forum, a panel session of Business Russia «New Age Energy: Global Trends, Challenges and Opportunities» will be held in the national pavilion of Russia. It will be attended by leading experts, business representatives, and industry leaders. The main topics for discussion are solving the problem of energy shortage for remote territories of the Far East and the Arctic through the development of distributed energy; hybrid energy complexes; energy storages; reducing energy costs for business through energy service contracts; competitive advantages of Russia. The moderator of the session is Maksim Zagornov, Business Ambassador of Business Russia to the UAE, President of the Distributed Power Generation Association.

Another equally important task of the business mission will be to introduce the members of Business Russia to the opportunity of running business in the UAE. On December 5, a series of intense business meetings will take place in Abu Dhabi. It is planned to visit the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, where the Business Russia members will have an opportunity to present their promising business projects to the leadership of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as to the owners of Emirati companies, to establish business ties.

The business mission will also include a visit to the Khalifa Industrial Zone (KIZAD) — one of the most significant free economic zones for the UAE economy. On the final day, an excursion to the headquarter of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is planned.
