The business mission of Business Russia and Distributed Power Generation Association to Dubai has been launched

October 5, the business mission of Business Russia and Distributed Power Generation Association to the International Exhibition on Water Management and Treatment, Energy Production and Environmental Protection WETEX-2021 officially started. The event takes place on the site of the EXPO 2020 World Exhibition and, according to the organizers, gathered more than 10,000 visitors on the first day alone. Business Russia is represented at WETEX by 10 companies that have brought unique developments and technologies to Dubai, many of which have no analogues in the world.

After a one-year break due to the epidemic of coronavirus infection, the International Exhibition WETEX-2021 opened in a big way This year, more than 2,500 exhibitors from 55 countries present their expositions. After the opening ceremony, the exhibition pavilion was visited by a representative delegation led by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, CEO of DEWA, founder of WETEX.

Even though WETEX has been held since 1998, Russian companies participate in the exhibition for the second time. That is why the stand of Business Russia, which unites 10 innovative companies, has aroused the special interest of WETEX participants.

A series of meetings at the stand of Business Russia was opened by the visit of Consul General of the Russian Federation in Dubai and the Northern Emirates Oleg Fomin. The diplomat got acquainted with the projects of Russian companies and expressed hope that all of them would find development in the Emirati market. «We observe how interest in Russian business in Dubai is growing every year. Along with the interest, the level of trust is also growing», Oleg Fomin noted and promised the support of Russian companies from the Consulate General.

The stand of Business Russia on the first day of WETEX was also visited by Ali Habib Al Khalsan, Director of Stakeholders of Dubai Economy Department. Dubai Economy Department (DED) today defines the economic agenda of the Emirate of Dubai, develops development plans, and provides services to domestic and foreign companies. As Ali Habib Al Khalsan noted, DED supports the structural transformation of Dubai into an innovative economy, and therefore the developments of Russian companies can be in demand in the Emirate. Ali Habib Al Khalsan gave several recommendations to Russian entrepreneurs on how to build connections with potential investors and enter tenders with a help of DED .

The Business Russia stand was also visited by the heads of several free economic zones. Faisal Yassine talked about the possibilities of the Jafza FEZ. And Ali bin Towaih Al Suwaidi — about the possibilities of the Ajman Free Zone. The leaders expressed hope for the development of Russian business in the Emirati market.

The Trade Representative of the Russian Federation in the UAE Ara Melikyan paid an official visit to the stand of Business Russia. The diplomat discussed with Business Ambassador of Business Russia in the UAE Maksim Zagornov issues of further interaction and cooperation. Ara Melikyan wished the delegation members good luck at WETEX and in the development of export projects.

During the whole day, the participants of the business mission conducted a series of substantive b2b negotiations. In general, more than 30 meetings and presentations were held, contacts were established, further ways of cooperation were outlined.
