Business Ambassador of the All-Russian Public Organization Business Russia to the United Arab Emirates, Director of MKC Group of Companies Maksim Zagornov took part in the online forum AIM-Eurasia 2021, organized by the Annual Investment Forum (AIM) and the Roscongress Foundation. The online platform brought together leaders of Russian and international business, representatives of government agencies and leading investment organizations. The main theme of the event was Digital Revolution and Sustainability: Demonstrating Sustainability and Accelerating the Digital Transformation of the Economy in Eurasia.

One of the goals of AIM-Eurasia 2021 forum in the post-pandemic period was the development and strengthening of interaction in the field of investments between business circles and government organizations of Russia, the CIS countries, the Middle East, as well as other states of Eurasia. During the two days, more than 100 speakers made presentations on the online platform: representatives of ministries and government agencies, international and regional organizations, development institutions, banking and financial organizations, start-ups, technology and innovative companies representing all sectors of the economy.

The opening ceremony of the forum was attended by the UAE Minister of State Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, the UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al-Zeyoudi, the UAE Minister of State for Entrepreneurship and SMEs Ahmad Belhul Al Falasi, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Economic Development Department (ADDED) Mohammed Ali Al Shorafa Al Hammadi, President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

The forum's program was divided into six thematic areas: foreign direct investment, small-scale and medium-sized enterprises, cities of the future, start-ups, foreign portfolio investments, and the Belt and Road Initiative. Business Ambassador of Business Russia to the UAE, Director of MKC Group of Companies Maksim Zagornov spoke at the Creation of Anti-Crisis Ecosystems for the Revival and Sustainable Growth of Small-Scale and Medium-Sized Businesses online session. The expert spoke about the difficulties Russian business faced during the pandemic, the role Business Russia played in reducing the negative consequences for small-scale and medium-sized businesses, and the lessons Russian entrepreneurs learned in 2020.

«Many companies have gone through «rebirth through the coronavirus» and reached a new level. Key lessons from the last year include building up digital skills. Companies that have invested in their digital environment over the past years have found themselves somewhat prepared for what has happened. Digital assets paid off; timely technological solutions helped companies swiftly go online», — noted Maksim Zagornov.

As Maksim Zagornov emphasized, the past year for Russian business was not only a time of downturn, but also a time of new opportunities. Thus, a number of hi-tech industries (for example, small-scale distributed power generation) showed stable growth. This made it possible to resume international sectoral business projects.

The forum included interactive trainings from leading industry experts, country presentations, and a startup hackathon. In addition, a virtual exposition was organized for the participants of the event, within which providers of solutions for smart cities and startups demonstrated their latest developments.
