The 16th International Defense Industry Exhibition IDEX 2023 has opened in Abu Dhabi. More than 60 countries, including Russia, have presented the latest samples of military and civilian products.
IDEX is one of the most significant international weaponry exhibitions held under the patronage of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, as well as with the support of the UAE Government and the armed forces. IDEX attracts the attention of key weapons manufacturers and customers while being a platform for military and technical innovations presentations from around the world.
The unified Russian exposition by Rosoboronexport is located separately this year and presents products from leading Russian defense enterprises (Uralvagonzavod, Technodinamika, Shvabe, Kalashnikov Group, Automatika Concern, Ruselectronics, and many others). The companies have presented more than 200 types of products, including civil helicopters: offshore MI-171A3, multi-purpose Ka-62 and light twin-engine Ka-226T helicopter.
The IDEX 2023 main topic is weapon industry robotization with focus on AI, neurotechnology and biotechnology.
According to the IDEX organizers, the exhibition sets the tone for rethinking national security with modern technologies, contributing to the achievement of world peace.
As Denis Manturov, Deputy Prime Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, noted during a visit to INDEX 2023, despite the sanctions pressure, the Middle East remains Russia’s reliable partner in military and technical cooperation.
